The future is already here — and the ultimate goal of all education is creation.
回溯历史，学院是雅典的哲思与稷下的争鸣，是兼容并蓄、自由探索的象征。而在今天，人工智能不断重构生产力，知识体系持续开放融合，产业格局加速更迭，我们再次叩问：学院何为？教育何向？艺术何用？
Looking back, an academy embodied the philosophical spirit of the Platonic Academy in Athens and the intellectual fervor of the Jixia Academy in China, being a symbol of open-minded inquiry and free exploration. Today, as artificial intelligence continues to reshape productivity, knowledge systems become increasingly open and integrated, and industries transform at an accelerated pace, we find ourselves asking once again: What is an academy for? What is education for? What is art for?
2024年9月，广州美术学院立足湾区、着眼未来，率先启动以“大通识”为核心的本科人才培养综合改革。我们打破所有专业壁垒，重塑一年级课程体系，以整体性的艺术观念激活创造，致力于实现从“知识传递”到“创造力唤醒”的转型，以跨领域的实践融合回应社会。
Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, rooted in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and looking toward the future, launched a comprehensive undergraduate education reform centered on “greater general education” in September 2024. We broke down all disciplinary barriers, redesigned first-year curriculum, and activated creativity through holistic artistic concepts, committed to shifting from “knowledge transmission” to “awakening creativity” and contributing to society through cross-disciplinary integration.
2025年9月，我们诚挚推出 「未来学院」通识教育改革系列活动，将于9月27日至10月25日在广州美术学院大学城校区集中呈现。作为系列重磅活动之一，“学院何为：艺术-教育-社会的未来图景”国际论坛 将于9月27日正式举行。
We are proud to present the Academy of the Future series of events on general education reform, taking place from September 27 to October 25 at the GAFA Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center Campus. As one of flagship events, International Forum “the Role of Academies: A Future Vision of Art, Education, and Society” will commence on September 27.
我们邀请来自全球多个国家与地区的四十多名学者、艺术家、教育家与策展人，跨越地理与学科的界限，共同构建一场高浓度、多维度的思想碰撞。这是一次前瞻性的集结，更是一次行动中的启示。我们不仅讨论“未来学院”，更正在实践中构建它的雏形。
We have invited over forty scholars, artists, educators, and curators from around the world to engage in an intense, multi-dimensional exchange of ideas transcending geographical and disciplinary boundaries. This is not only a forward-looking gathering but also a revelation in action. We are not merely discussing the “Academy of the Future” - we are already building its prototype.
论坛同期，我们还将推出 “未来学院：GAFA通识教育改革实践文献展” （9月27日-10月25日），并举办系列国际工作坊 （9月22日-10月6日），将一线教学现场打开、共享，请教于各方同道。
Alongside the forum, we will also present the “Academy of the Future: GAFA General Education Reform Practice Archive Exhibition” (from September 27 to October 25) and a series of international workshops (from September 22 to October 6), opening up and sharing front-line teaching practices for collective reflection and dialogue with peers worldwide.
